St. Louis is one of only ten cities chosen to pilot the U.S. Department of Energy-funded $10 million Affordable Mobility Platform (AMP) carsharing program launched in 2022. The program, managed by Forth Mobility, a non-profit organization that designs and implements EV carsharing programs, aims to provide affordable, on-demand transportation services to underserved communities.

St. Louis Regional Clean Cities has partnered with Forth to bring the AMP program to St. Louis residents. STLRCC’s St. Louis Vehicle Electrification Rides for Seniors (SiLVERS) project currently has Chevy Volt EVs available at two downtown community centers, Northside Youth and Senior Service Center (NYSSC) and City Seniors Inc. (CSI). The Silvers Electric Vehicle program, recently featured in a MotorWeek Auto World segment, offers free transportation and meal delivery services to seniors with limited mobility options. The program tackles the transportation challenges seniors often face by offering a sustainable and emissions-free option as an alternative to other modes of transportation.

This program is a benefit to the community while also promoting a cleaner and greener St. Louis. The SiLVERS program has made a significant impact, having delivered over 100,000 meals to home-bound residents and provided more than 2,000 free rides as of June 2023, an effort that has prevented 45,000 pounds of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere.

Senior citizens (aged 60+) interested in receiving rides for medical appointments, shopping trips, social activities, or more can schedule appointments:

  • On the Northside, call Northside Youth and Senior Services at (314) 652-9946.
  • On the Southside, call City Seniors, Inc. at (314) 352-0141.
